Area Information And Activities

Welcome To The City Of Cape Coral, A Tropical Paradise Located In Southwest Florida

Sometimes called the Venice of Florida, the City of Cape Coral is reputed to have 400 miles of canals with access to the Gulf of Mexico, and is well placed for all the boating, fishing, and outdoor activities that surround it.  The area has a large and eclectic collection of restaurants and shopping, includes many interesting and exciting activities, and hosts an array of fun events and festivals.

"The Cape", as it's referred to by locals, began as a loose collection of cattle-ranching, logging and fishing communities and in the 1950s was famous for its building lots being sold sight unseen by developers flying prospective buyers overhead in small planes.

Today it has a relaxed waterfront lifestyle, activities for children that include Sun Splash Family Water Park, Mike Greenwell’s Family Fun Park, and 27,000-square-foot Eagle Skate Park.  Nature lovers can explore Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve, where boardwalks and kayak trips take visitors through a mangrove habitat.  Southwest Florida is known for the best beaches in the entire state including Sanibel Island, legendary for its miles of white, shell-strewn beaches.  Cape Coral is serviced by the well connected Southwest Florida International Airport, the Gateway to Florida's Gulfcoast.
